19/01/2011: REPULSE BAY

On our visit to Stanley last week we saw a couple of nice beaches and decided to visit one of them - Repulse Bay.

It was 19 degrees so not much sun bathing..but lots of Chinese excitedly taking pictures. Our visit had coincided with a couple of coach parties, presumably from the mainland.

 Caught again...
But Steve got his own back.......Sue is adamant she is 'sun-bathing' NOT snoozing!!
There are many buildings with holes in the middle - to ensure good fen shui.
There was an unusual temple which was decorated with red ribbons and statues dedicated to good fortune.

This guy looks magnificent.

These statues are 15th century, inscribed with characters saying 'As long-living as heaven, as prosperous as the sea'.
Repulse Bay is a VERY desirable area, as shown by this advert in an estate agent's window:

Yes, that does say HK$350 million ( a cool £35million)!!
